Who We Are
Tina Jezuit
Director and Founder
Tina, affectionately called Teenski by close friends, is over the moon to have the opportunity to support pediatric cancer patients in Northeast PA. While she adores traveling, and has done so extensively, she believes that there is no place like home, and her heart is in NEPA! Tina’s greatest and most laborious accomplishment is being a 20 year Osteosarcoma Survivor. Tina believes that one day, cancer will be eradicated, but until then, dedicates her life to mimimizing suffering for kids with cancer and their families.
Tina graduated from the University of Scranton armed with a degree in Elementary Education. She is currently pursuing an MA at Marywood University in Communication Arts with a Business integration. Currently, Tina also sits on the board of the Alpha Sigma Nu honor Society at the University of Scranton. Tina’s favorite times are spent with close friends and with her family – a family that has eternally been there for her and literally saved her life, more than once!! Please refer to our first blog entry, “The Diagnosis: 1988″ for more details, or e-mail her with ANY questions or to share your story. She adores reading, writing, cooking, exercising, and working on being as healthy as possible, but most of all sharing her story!!
Jillian JezuitAssistant Director
Jillian is thrilled to have the amazing opportunity to serve as Assistant Director of Cancertacularâ„¢, Inc! A 1999 graduate of Valley View High School, Jillian has worked in the banking industry for the past 9 years. Dancing, traveling, reading, and a new found hobby of painting are just a few things she enjoys in her spare time. Her best friend, sister, and co-conspirator, Tina Jezuit, serves as her main reason for involvement with this, and many other cancer-related organizations. Jillian has made unbelievable sacrifices throughout her young life, as she was just age six at the time of Tina’s cancer diagnosis. She has done so tirelessly and without complaint, as a long time sibling of a cancer warrior and would love to hear your story and share hers!
Stan JezuitCommunity Outreach
While Stan’s official duties include Community Outreach for Cancertacularâ„¢, Inc., he wears many hats and is an invaluable asset and driving force of this fledgling organization. Most importantly, Stan is honored to have been Chrissie’s husband for the past 34 years. Together, they are the proud parents of Tina and Jillian.
After graduating from Mansfield State College, Stan obtained a Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from The University of Scranton. During his 35 year career in counseling, he has become a nationally Certified Rehabilitation Counselor and is Licensed Professional Counselor in the Commonwealth of PA. His family has always been, and still remains, the number one focus of his life. Stan’s family regards him as the “rock” that always guided them through bad times, and celebrated the good. He is always receptive to talking and sharing his experiences with parents and families who are dealing with pediatric cancer.
